God first gave the Israelites Manna six weeks after they
left Egypt. It was in form of a small white wafers and tasted like honey (Exo.
16:31). The Hebrew word for 'what' is 'ma'. By means of the manna, God taught
his people obedience (Exo. 16:28-30) and dependence on himself and His word
(Deut. 8:3). Those who have Christ as the bread of life live forever (Jn. 6:
31-35, 49-58).
